Happy New Year, everyone! As we’re already diving into 2025, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year and share what’s next for SidekickBee. 2024 was a year of change, challenges, and growth—though not quite as hectic as 2023. It wasn’t a typical year of fast-paced hustle, and I’ve learned a lot about finding balance, prioritizing self-care, and building resilience.   A Quiet Year Amidst the Chaos As many of you know, SidekickBee has always been about helping small businesses grow through digital marketing strategies—SEO, website design, and overall business strategy. However, 2024 saw me take a step back from my usual marketing strategist role due to some personal reasons. One of my long-time clients, a life coach I’d been working with for quite some time, was diagnosed with Big C. This wasn’t just a professional relationship; it was deeply personal. We had been working hard together to launch a new course that was poised to take her business to the next level. She was traveling the world, living her dreams, and we were so excited about all the upcoming opportunities. But then, everything changed. Right when we were gearing up for the course launch, she received her diagnosis. It hit me hard. We had worked together to help her grow from a three-digit monthly revenue to a five-digit month, and her business was thriving. But when the diagnosis came, it completely shifted everything. It was an emotional rollercoaster, and it left me drained—not just physically, but emotionally as well. I had been so involved in her business journey that her challenges became mine, too. It was tough to continue working with the same focus, so I knew I needed to step back and prioritize my well-being during this difficult time.   A Shift in Focus As a result, I decided to scale back from being a full-time marketing strategist and focus on areas where I could continue to make an impact without the emotional toll. I narrowed my focus to SEO and website design, allowing me to still provide value while also giving myself the space to breathe. While 2024 wasn’t the year I expected, it gave me the opportunity to slow down, re-evaluate my goals, and focus on what truly matters. Working so closely with clients, especially those who become like family, can be emotionally intense. When you witness someone’s success and personal journey firsthand, it affects you deeply. This experience reminded me of the importance of self-care, while still delivering the best possible service to my clients.   Looking Ahead: 2025 and the Launch of My VA Business Now that 2025 is here, I feel refreshed and excited for what’s ahead. While I’ll continue offering SEO and website design services, I’m also thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of my Virtual Assistant (VA) business. This is something I’ve been wanting to dive into for a while now, and after thinking things over, I feel like the time is finally right to make it happen. With the VirtuaNinja brand, I’m bringing back virtual assistant services to offer hands-on support for clients—everything from handling admin tasks to content creation, social media, and more. We’ve been working with marketing agencies in the past, offering white-label services like logo design, branding, and websites. I had tried offering VA services before under the name SidekickBee, but had to put it on hold while focusing on SEO and web design. Now, with the help of a close friend, I’m ready to bring it back, this time as part of VirtuaNinja! I’m especially excited to offer these services to small business owners who could use some extra help with their daily tasks, plus strategy and design. In August 2024, we had the incredible opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in San Jose, Northern Samar, Philippines. We were able to provide essential school supplies to approximately 50 kids in need. As the new school year approached, we gathered items like pad papers, pens, crayons, and other necessary supplies to help these young learners start their academic journey on the right foot. Many families face challenges in providing these basics, and we aimed to ease that burden. Seeing the joy on the children’s faces as they received their supplies was truly heartwarming. Each item represented not just tools for learning, but also encouragement and support from a caring community.
